Masks
EBS (Public bus transportation) made a contest for everyone to perticipate in (2020). They dared anyone to make the most original mask design they could make. So I made as many designs as I could of thngs that I like or find beautiful. I also had to keep in mind that everyone could wear it female or male. I had a lot of fun to make all of these in Illustrator.
I won first place with the Tiki Mask and got 20 of my own masks in the mail!
Rijksmuseum
Growing wrapping paper
The Rijksmuseum had a big contest (2020) to were everyone could use the Rijksmuseum online collection of foto's from painting to make your own masterpiece that they could make and sell in the Rijksmuseum shop. I choose the Flower painting from Jan Davidsz and to turn it into a print on a growing wrapping paper. Growing Wrapping Paper is recycled paper with flower seeds in them, so when you are done using the wrapping pape, you can put it in the garden to grow flowers. The painting fits with the intention and it also fights waste.
I got 2nd place!
Rijksmeum
Analoogram
The Rijksmuseum had 2 categories where you could submit a masterpiece: The Rijksstudio Design Award and the The Rijksstudio Young Talent Award (aged 21 and under). I joined both with the first one being the Growing Wrapping Paper and the second being the analoogram. This was a project that I did with a team from my class including a teacher. Analoogram is a online platform we created for youg talented students to share their art. We made a visual version of it in the shape of a instagram format with foam and printed artworks of what we made for the Long Live Rembrandt Anniversary that also took place at the same time between 2019-2020.
We did not get nominated.
Board Game
Out of the Box
We had a contest at school to make an original board game that did not excist yet. I had a team of classmates and I got the idea to make a board game that would form a box if you would fold it. I got inspired by the explosion gift boxes that was trending on Pinterest. It is when you form a box out of paper and when you uncover the lid of that box it would fall apart like a suprise. This project was a lot of fun! Out of the Box is about doing little art projects like drawing while going down the board. On the cards are instructions on what to use and what to make. This game is made for people with an art block.
We got first place and a trophy!
